Prandelli set to make wholesale changes against Ukraine

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli will look to shake things up in the Azzurri's friendly against Ukraine in Kiev on Tuesday in a bid to better assess all the players that he has called up for these international fixtures.

Prandelli has already stated that he would give an extended run out to those players who did not feature in the 1-0 win against Slovenia on Friday night. However, he hasn't called up any additional stars for the Ukraine game.

The attack will most likely be revamped with the front pairing of Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini given the night off, with Giuseppe Rossi and Alessandro Matri are all set to take their place.

The midfield will also see a few changes as Thiago Motta might start from the bench and Claudio Marchisio be deployed as his replacement. The trequartista role which saw Stefano Mauri play on Friday, could be ditched if Prandelli goes for a change in formation.

While in defence, Davide Santon and Domenico Criscito will be the likely full-backs on the field in place of Cristian Maggio and Federico Balzaretti. Behind them, Viviano is likely to take over the goalkeeping duties from Gianluigi Buffon.
