What Can We Expect From Serie A Season 2019/20

Monday 24 June 2019

Juventus have won the title in the previous season in even easier fashion in comparison to 2018. The Old Lady have dominated the championship from the start to the end, having won 90 points from 38 games. There are going to be many transfers and changes during the summer, but that doesn’t change the odds and potential winners for the next season. Bianconeri are currently priced at 3/5 odds to win the next edition of Serie A. Can they do it for the ninth time in a row? Inter Milan, AS Roma and Napoli, are surely going to do their best to overthrow the Turin giants.

Some older Serie A fans are surely excited to see Brescia and Lecce back to the elite. These two clubs were standard members of the Italian top flight back in the late ’90s and produced some great players. Unfortunately, bookmakers don’t think these two have good chances to maintain the Serie A membership ticket. The odds on their relegation at the moment are at 4/5. The third team who got promoted, Hellas Verona, has slightly better chances according to the odds.

Juventus have won the domestic championship 35 times so far and they have shown no intentions to stop. According to Best Betting Sites tough more and more people are starting to bet also on Inter and Napoli to challenge Juventus in the next season. There are lots of transfer news related to the champions at the moment. Some of Ajax’s young stars like Matthijs de Ligt is linked to Juve, as well as Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane. The most recent transfer rumor is Tottenham’s eagerness to sell Toby Alderweireld. In case you missed the news this summer, Massimiliano Allegri is no longer Juventus’ manager. Maurizio Sarri has taken his place. Former Chelsea’s coach is probably not going to change the playstyle or the main roster a lot.

It is fair to say that Napoli were the fiercest challengers in the last couple of seasons, but they were not a big threat in the previous edition. Napoli have ended their UEFA Champions League 2018/19 campaign in the group stages, which was a big blow. Carlo Ancelotti is still feeling optimistic when it comes to winning Serie A. Their chances would increase dramatically if Kalidou Koulibaly decides to stay in Naples. There are plenty of rich offers incoming on a daily basis though. According to the latest reports, Man Utd are not far away from signing this fantastic central defender. Is Napoli doomed to be the runner up for the next couple of years as well?

Inter Milan could become a serious title contender this year though. Nerazzurri were far behind the top in terms of points, but there were many improvements made over the course of the last three seasons. The main issue this time was poor defending away from home (conceded 23 goals in 19 appearances). Playing in the UCL this time is surely going to be a huge morale boost for the squad. It was carried out today that Inter Milan reportedly signed Sassuolo’s Stefano Sensi.

Roma’s fans can’t be satisfied with the way the previous season ended. The team finished as 6th and there haven’t been any big signings made yet. Also, the rumors of Edin Dzeko leaving the squad are getting louder every day. There are going to be many transfers and signings when it comes to managers as well.

When it comes to the top goal scorers list, Fabio Quagliarella has won the award last year after scoring 26 times for Sampdoria. Colombia Daniel Zapata was behind him with 23 goals, and judging by the latest headlines, Atalanta is desperately trying to keep this player in their lines. One of the biggest revelations in 2018/2019 was Polish forward Krzysztof Piatek. He made a move to AC Milan recently, ending the season with 22 goals total. One of the best players in the history of football Cristiano Ronaldo was 4th with 21 goals. Can CR7 pull another great season or two considering his age? The fans are hoping to see him lead the squad to another UCL final and the European title. There are no odds up yet for this market, but it is expected to see players from above at the top of the list.
