Giaccherini wants Cesena stay

Emanuele Giaccherini has declared his intentions to stay at Cesena, but admitted there were talks with other clubs.

The 26-year-old was a standout for the Cavallucci last season as the side avoided relegation. Giaccherini made 36 appearances in 2010/11, scoring seven goals.

This prompted rumours regarding his future at the Emilia-Romagna club, with Roma and Napoli believed to be interested in the flying winger.

However the player told SportItalia that while there were talks with other clubs, he will refuse any further offers to remain at Cesena.

“Last week there was a meeting between my agent and other teams but the offers were not good enough. I want to stay, even if there is interest from clubs such as Roma, Fiorentina and Napoli.”

He recently stated he is aiming as high as possible and it would be his dream to play for reigning world champions Inter.
