Bruno advises Ogbonna to stay at Torino

Ex-Torino hard man Pasquale Bruno has advised star defender Angelo Ogbonna to remain in Turin, amidst interest from Serie A’s big clubs.

Torino turned down summer advances from Milan, Juventus and Napoli by sticking a £20 million price-tag on the player.

Bruno believes that with Torino currently in first place, it would be a mistake to leave: “My advice to Ogbonna is to remain in Turin, above all should the Granata be promoted to Serie A next season,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He has to believe that despite the excellent push for him, at Milan it would be difficult to find space. Plus, if Torino want to be protagonists should they return to Serie A, his contribution becomes necessary.”

The Lecce native feels Coach Giampiero Ventura is important: “With Ventura he has found greater security and I hope [President Urbano] Cairo will do everything he can to keep him at Torino.”

“Is he better as a full-back or in the centre? He is good in both positions, but I believe he will be a great central defender.”

Ogbonna has received two call-ups to the Italian team by Cesare Prandelli, but is yet to make his senior debut.
