Following Lecce's 4-2 defeat to Napoli over the weekend, the club has announced, through their website, that Eusebio Di Francesco has been sacked and Serse Cosmi will take over as the new coach.

Di Francesco's Lecce suffered their third consecutive defeat in the league this weekend and this was enough for officials to decide that a change in coach was necessary. Di Francesco took over at the start of this season, but only managed to last at Lecce for about five months.

New coach Serse Cosmi has enjoyed varied success at the eight clubs earlier managed. With experience on his side, club officials and fans will be hoping that he can save the Lupi from relegation.

Lecce are currently at the bottom of the table with just eight points from thirteen games. They face Lazio, Parma and Inter before the winter break.
