Amauri set for Genoa or abroad says Parma President

Monday 26 December 2011

Juventus striker Amauri will be heading either abroad or to Genoa, but not to Parma, according to their President Tommaso Ghirardi.

Amauri, 31, netted seven goals in 11 appearances last season on loan at Parma, but this season that will not be an option: ”I would think about it, but it’s not really doable because in attack we are fine. Floccari has returned to his best, and the trio with Giovinco and Biabiany has done well, so in attack we are fine”, Ghirardi told Sky Sport 24.

Of his likely destination, the President was also forthcoming with an opinion: ”From what I know, he would prefer an experience abroad, but if Genoa shows that they want to invest in him, I think that Juventus would let him go, and he would do well.”

Amauri’s last league goal for Juventus came 22 months ago, in February 2010, in a 3-2 victory over Genoa.
