Luis Enrique announces Coppa squad

By Luca Cetta

Tuesday 24 January 2012

Luis Enrique has submitted his squad for the Coppa Italia clash with Juventus and is without Daniele De Rossi.

The Future Captain also missed the weekend win against Cesena, a match in which Francesco Totti broke Gunnar Nordahl’s longstanding scoring record with a since club. The Giallorossi icon has 211 strikes to his name and will be looking to add to the tally in Turin.

Also absent are injured duo Nicolas Burdisso and Pablo Osvaldo, while Cicinho, David Pizzaro and Marco Cassetti have remained in Rome.

After four straight league wins, the Spaniard noted in his press conference: “I’ve noticed a change in mentality since the start of our training camp. The results haven’t come immediately, but things are going better now. Now it’s down to us to continue this positive run.

“Juventus are a winning team who play attacking football. In December, they came to the Stadio Olimpico to win and this must be an example for us, because tomorrow we must look to impose our style of play and to win the game. The fact that they’re unbeaten needs to be an added incentive as far as we're concerned.”

Roma squad: Stekelenburg, Lobont, Curci, Heinze, Juan, Kjaer, Rosi, Taddei, José Angel, Gago, Greco, Perrotta, Pjanic, Simplicio, Viviani, Borini, Bojan, Lamela, Totti.
