Pizarro explains Man City move and reveals Juventus talks

By Tim Doel

Wednesday 01 February 2012

New Manchester City midfielder David Pizarro has spoken about leaving Roma yesterday, after he completed a 6-month loan deal to the Premier League club.

The Chile international has only made seven appearances for the Giallorossi this season under new Coach Luis Enrique, and is looking forward to his new life in England.

"At Roma I wasn't in the first-team for a long time. Mancini and his staff knew this, we talked and now I am happy to have arrived. The deal was done at the last minute, it's been a big adventure," he told AsRoma24.

"There were some talks with Juventus, but things happened very fast with City, and here I am. I never thought that I would have changed country and culture, but it will certainly be an important experience in my career."

Until this season, Pizarro had been an ever-present in the Roma side since his 6.5m move from Inter in 2006, making 148 league appearances.
