David Beckham has talked on his love for Milan and Italian football in an interview the Gazzetta dello Sport, and also backed his former side in their Champions League knockout match with Arsenal.

"Look, I think of Milan every day, really. I was really happy at Milanello: I love the team, the staff, all of those that work there. I love the fans. I miss Milan badly, I miss Italy... I don't miss a game, and I don't understand those that say that Calcio is in difficulty. It's so competitive, and complete."

When asked whether he could return as a manager, Beckham quipped: "But why as a manager? First as a footballer, then maybe as manager. After."

Beckham went on to back Milan in their Champions League clash with Arsenal, even if his son Romeo is a Gunners fan: "I respect the club, but I can't support them. When I discovered that it was my son's team I was desperate. I'm convinced Milan can get through."
