Novara continue to believe, says Caracciolo

By Luca Cetta

Monday 13 February 2012

Novara’s goal-scoring hero Andrea Caracciolo praised his teammates for obtaining a crucial win over Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza yesterday as they battle for their Serie A status.

The former Brescia player scored the only goal early in the second half as the bottom-placed club triumphed for the second time this season over the Nerazzurri, despite finishing the match with ten men.

“It was important to obtain the three points, because we are at the bottom of the table. Fortunately, now we have been able to get a little closer,” Caracciolo told Rai Sport.

“The defensive solidity? To be able to piece together the defence is crucial, especially for a club looking for relegation safety. We have never lost belief.”

Caracciolo said he was able to share a joke with Coach Emiliano Mondonico: “I went to the Coach and said: ‘My name is Andrea Caracciolo’. I said this because every so often he calls me [Emiliano] Bonazzoli. He says I look like him!”
