Schelotto agent predicts Inter exit

The agent of Inter Milan winger Ezequiel Matías Schelotto has revealed that his client is likely to leave the club as he isn’t part of new boss Walter Mazzarri’s plans.

Ezequiel Matías Schelotto

The Buenos Aires-born star only arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza in January, impressing during his 13 appearances for the club after almost immediately becoming a regular under former coach Andrea Stramaccioni and fired his way into the fans’ hearts by scoring the equalizer in February’s 1-1 draw with bitter rivals AC Milan.

Following the departure of Stramaccioni and the appointment Mazzarri, many believed the 24-year-old would be a big part of the new coach’s plans as he bids to justify Inter’s status as being among the favourites with Paddy Power to win Serie A, especially with the former Napoli boss reportedly having tried to sign him when he was in charge at the Stadio San Paolo.

His versatility also made him likely to be staying at Inter, with his ability to get up and down the flank with ease making him look almost a certainty to feature in the new manager’s favoured 3-5-2 formation.

However, Schelotto’s agent Daniel Boaglio has now revealed his client has been told he is surplus to requirements but has denied rumours in the football transfer news that the 24-year-old has spoken to either Torino or Genoa.

“I do not know anything [of the rumours regarding Torino or Genoa]. They only seem to be journalistic voices,” Boaglio told Tuttomercatoweb. “I am not aware of the thought [that Mazzarri wanted him at Napoli]. We have not talked with the coach but with Inter.

“He has four years left on his contract but there is a strong chance of making an exit. He had come up with the idea of being at Inter for life.

“This is his will, but the situation has changed. The signal that has come to us from Inter is to sell the player,” he added.
