Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi

Teams: Chievo and Hellas Verona
Capacity: 38,402
Built: 1963
City: Verona

The Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi is one of Italy’s iconic stadiums. Built in 1963 this stadium's only fault was that it may have been too big for the teams which it had been built for.

The ground was renovated for the World Cup in 1990 and became a superb arena for football from this date. The renovations included an extra tier, new roof, better visibility and fantastic transport connections to and from the city. Chievo are the city's Serie A side although they are by far the least supported.

When looking at attendances it is Hellas Verona who normally come out on top despite their recent positions in Serie C and now B. Chievo occupy the Curva Sud with a small but loyal group of Ultras but the atmosphere is often lost in this vast stadium. If Hellas Verona do make it back to the top flight and Chievo are still in the division, this may all change dramatically, but for now the impressive arena is largely left without voice.
