The Stadio Dino Manuzzi was finished in 1957 and is somewhat different to many Italian stadium designs of that era. The first thing that is noticeable is that the entire stadium has a roof and it is also extremely close to the pitch.
The absence of an athletics track provides an intimidating atmosphere as the crowd are almost on top of the players during the game. Cesena, who despite some appearances in Serie A during the mid seventies, and less notably in the eighty’s, have languished in the lower leagues. Currently back in Serie A their home ground is often full and gives a hostile atmosphere to away fans courtesy of the Ultra group WSB 1981 whose flares and flags almost hang directly over the goalposts at the north end.
